Parts, stock and purchase orders
Tracking products in the workshop and the vans, using parts on jobs, and ordering from suppliers.

Turn on Inventory in Settings → Modules. Products come from your price list (Settings → Price list); choose which ones to track, and set up the places stock is kept, such as the workshop and each van.
Stock
Inventory shows what is on hand and available in each place, and flags anything at or below its reorder level. Move stock between places, for example from the workshop to a van, and it keeps its cost as it moves. Stock is valued at weighted average cost, and Reports → Stock value shows its worth at the end of any day.
Parts on a job
On a job, record the parts used and where they came from; the stock comes off at once. A part that was not used can be returned, and it goes back where it came from.
Suppliers and purchase orders
Purchasing holds your suppliers and purchase orders. An order goes from Draft to Ordered, then is received as the goods arrive, in parts if a delivery is short, and received stock is added at the price you paid. Purchasing shows costs, so it is only for people allowed to see what things cost.
