VAT (Value Added Tax)

A tax on most goods and services, charged by registered businesses in the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Updated

VAT is a consumption tax charged by VAT-registered businesses in the UK, Ireland and across Europe. It works much like GST in Australia and New Zealand.

Registration thresholds and rates vary by country. This is general information, not tax advice.

For example: a UK heating engineer registered for VAT charges £300 plus 20% VAT on a boiler service, invoicing £360. The £60 is paid to HMRC, less the VAT on the parts the engineer bought.

How Primemgr handles this

Every priced line in Primemgr has a tax code, so VAT is calculated per line at its own rate and totalled on the quote or invoice.
