Messages and the customer portal
Emailing customers from their record, keeping a history of calls and visits, and the portal your customers use.

Turn on Messages in Settings → Modules. Every email the app sends a customer, such as a quote, an invoice or a reminder, is kept on their record, and Messages lists them for everyone.
Writing to a customer
On a customer’s page, Send an email writes to them in your own words, from you, and their replies come to your own inbox. Record a call or visit keeps a note of a phone call, a visit, a text sent from a phone or a letter, so the history is complete.
The customer portal
With the Customer portal module on, Make a portal link on a customer’s page gives you a private link to send them. There is no password: the link is their key, and it can be withdrawn. In the portal they see their appointments, their work, their quotes (and can accept or decline them), their invoices and their equipment, and can ask for new work, which arrives as a lead.
Messages in the portal
With Messages on as well, customers can write to you from the portal and send up to three photos or PDFs with a message. You are notified, and you reply from their page under Reply in their portal: the reply appears in their portal and is emailed to them. Photos are checked for viruses and have their location details removed before they are kept. Only the portal conversation is shown to the customer, never your notes of calls or visits.
