Recording payments and the ways you take money
Recording a payment, choosing your payment methods, and the daily sales report.
By PrimemgrUpdated How we research and check this
On an issued invoice, choose Record payment, enter the amount and how it was paid. The invoice shows what has been paid and what is still owing.
Your payment methods
Settings → Payments → Ways you take money in person is where you tick what you accept: cash, EFTPOS, bank transfer, cheque and so on. Record payment offers only those, and the daily sales report has a column for each.
Card payments online
Customers cannot pay an invoice online yet. Every payment is recorded with Record payment, whichever way it reached you. Stripe, and Pay Advantage in Australia, can be connected in Settings → Payments ahead of time, but a connection does not take payments yet.
Daily sales and cash
Reports → Daily sales and cash shows the money received each day, one column for each way you take it. A method you have stopped using still gets a column when it took money in the dates you chose, so nothing goes missing.
