A cleaning schedule sets how often each task is done: some every day, some weekly, some monthly and some once or twice a year. For a household it is a routine. For a cleaning business it is the plan that decides what happens at each regular visit, so the visit fits its time and nothing is forgotten for months.

Turning the schedule into a rota for regular visits
A cleaning business visiting fortnightly cannot do the monthly and quarterly tasks at every visit without running long, and should not leave them undone. The answer is a rota: split the less frequent tasks into groups and do one group each visit.

Commercial cleaning schedules
Offices and shared premises work the same way on a bigger scale: daily tasks in the scope (bins, kitchens, toilets, high-touch points), weekly tasks such as vacuuming all carpeted areas, and periodic tasks such as carpet cleaning and high dusting on a quarterly plan. Write the schedule into the contract so both sides can check it.
Making the schedule stick
- Write it down per customer; homes differ.
- Record which rotating group was done at each visit, so the next cleaner continues the rota rather than restarting it.
- Show it to the customer; it is the clearest explanation of what they are paying for.
- Review it when the visit starts taking longer than priced.
