ServiceM8 prices its plans by how many new jobs you create each month, with unlimited users. Primemgr prices by how many people use it, with a monthly work-order allowance from 200 on Starter to 5,000 on Scale. Which costs less depends on your volume.
ServiceM8’s prices (Australia)
From ServiceM8’s pricing page, in Australian dollars a month, including GST:
- Free: $0, 1 user, 30 new jobs a month.
- Starter: $29, 50 new jobs a month.
- Growing: $79, 150 new jobs a month.
- Premium: $149, 500 new jobs a month.
- Premium Plus: $349, 1500 or more new jobs a month, then 20c a job.
- Paid plans have unlimited users. Text messages over the included amount are 10c each.
Primemgr’s prices (Australia)
- Starter, 1 user: $65 a month.
- Small, 3 users: $80 a month.
- Team, 6 users: $115 a month.
- Scale, 15 users: $220 a month.
- From 200 work orders a month on Starter to 5,000 on Scale; paying yearly saves 20%.

- Three people doing up to 150 jobs a month: ServiceM8 Growing, $79, costs a little less than Small, $80.

What is different about Primemgr
- One price per team size, with the modules for each trade included, and extra modules on bigger plans.
- Your business’s data sits in its own database, not a shared table, and our support team cannot look at it unless you grant access, for at most four hours.
- Quotes with options and optional extras that customers accept online are on every plan, and online booking can be switched on.
- A customer portal: one private link where a customer sees their bookings, quotes and invoices.
- Export everything, free, at any time, including when you leave.

When is ServiceM8 the better choice?
ServiceM8 has a free plan for sole traders and costs less for teams doing fewer than about 150 jobs a month. It has an iPhone app, takes card payments in the app and online, includes text messages on paid plans, syncs with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks, and lets customers book with an upfront price. If you need card payments or accounting sync today, ServiceM8 does those today; we do not, and accounting sync is not on our plans.
Moving from ServiceM8
Export your customer list from ServiceM8 as a spreadsheet (CSV) and import it: you match its columns to ours, see a preview of every row, and duplicates are caught before anything is saved.
Quotes, jobs and invoices do not import. Finish the open ones in ServiceM8, or add the few still in progress by hand, and keep ServiceM8’s own export of your history for your records.
The 14-day trial is long enough to run a normal week of new work through Primemgr before you stop paying for ServiceM8.
