Fergus and Primemgr both run quotes, jobs, scheduling and invoices for trade businesses. Fergus publishes starting prices for two plans; Primemgr publishes one price per team size with the modules for each trade included.
Fergus’s prices (Australia)
From Fergus’s Australian pricing page, in Australian dollars:
- Essentials: from $53 a month.
- Professional: from $77 a month.
- Enterprise, for more than 10 staff: a custom plan, priced on request.
- Timesheet users: from $26 a month.
- Contractor users: $4 per user a day.
- Add-ons: certificates $30 a month for 1 to 9 staff, $80 for 10 or more; text messages $15 for 100; card payments 1.95% + $0.30 a transaction.
The page gives starting prices only. It does not say what a larger team pays or whether the plan prices include GST, so we have not worked out a team total for Fergus. Ask Fergus for a quote for your team before comparing.
Primemgr’s prices (Australia)
- Starter, 1 user: $65 a month.
- Small, 3 users: $80 a month.
- Team, 6 users: $115 a month.
- Scale, 15 users: $220 a month.

What each includes
- Fergus Essentials lists job management, quoting and estimating, price books, GPS tracking, timesheets, a calendar, materials, recurring jobs, a mobile app, invoicing, payments (with supplier price files entered by hand) and Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB sync. Checklists, forms, job phases and tasks are on Professional.
- Fergus Professional adds, among others, purchase orders, supplier integrations, health and safety (hazards and SWMS) and more reporting.
- Primemgr includes quoting with options, scheduling, jobs and invoicing on every plan, with online booking and the customer portal to switch on, and prices by team size, with extra modules on bigger plans.

What is different about Primemgr
- One price per team size, with the modules for each trade included, and extra modules on bigger plans.
- Your business’s data sits in its own database, not a shared table, and our support team cannot look at it unless you grant access, for at most four hours.
- Quotes with options and optional extras that customers accept online are on every plan, and online booking can be switched on.
- A customer portal: one private link where a customer sees their bookings, quotes and invoices.
- Export everything, free, at any time, including when you leave.

When is Fergus the better choice?
Fergus syncs with Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB, takes card payments, and has a mobile app with GPS tracking and timesheets. It handles price books, purchase orders and supplier integrations, recurring jobs, and health and safety paperwork including SWMS, with compliance certificates as an add-on. Its entry price, from $53 a month, is below our Starter plan at $65. If you need accounting sync, card payments, supplier pricing or SWMS today, Fergus does those today; we do not, and accounting sync is not on our plans.
Moving from Fergus
Export your customer list from Fergus as a spreadsheet (CSV) and import it: you match its columns to ours, see a preview of every row, and duplicates are caught before anything is saved.
Quotes, jobs and invoices do not import. Finish the open ones in Fergus, or add the few still in progress by hand, and keep Fergus’s own export of your history for your records.
The 14-day trial is long enough to run a normal week of new work through Primemgr before you stop paying for Fergus.
